So concludes the second week of my internship. The only noteworthy adventure of the day was trying gelato for the first time at Chelsea Market with my mentor and another intern and then visiting the High Line right afterwards.
The High Line is an abandoned railroad track turned into an elevated park with plants, trees, vendors, and a nice view of the Hudson River. It was nice to cross it off as one of the places I wanted to visit but it wasn't as great as I was expecting.
A small bit of the 1.45 mile-long park
Also, I did not get to see "Manhattanhenge" as I was too absorbed in my studies to realize I was still still at the office around sunset. I heard it was too cloudy to really see it well anyway. Someone even said people just stood in the middle of the intersection trying to see it. Glad I wasn't caught up in that mayhem for nothing.
Here's a picture of what it would have looked like had it been nice out.
Supposedly it's going to be sunny at sunset tomorrow so maybe I'll see it then... as long as it's not too chaotic on the streets.
