One thing I like about the office is that even though it's nearing the end of my second week here, I'm still finding new surprises (and getting lost, which leads to finding more cool stuff). It's similar to looking for cool things and easter eggs in an RPG game after you've beaten the main storyline.
Seeing as my shoulders and neck are knotted up from being hunched over my computer all day, I decided to book an appointment after lunch for a massage one floor up from my office. After eating sushi and watching a few minutes of the live-streaming Google I/O (which should have been more like almost an hour's worth of watching except the intro took an absurd amount of time), I ventured off to look for the massage room. Of course as the building is basically a 16-story maze, I got lost, had to ask for directions, and was almost late for my appointment.
Nothing much else happened today but I did manage to pick my seats for my flights to and from San Francisco -- window seats both ways. I'm stoked to go but also incredibly nervous to be traveling by myself farther than I've ever gone in my life. The longest solo journey I've made up to this point was my trip to get here in the first place by train.
Around 9:30 -- realizing I was probably the last intern yet again in the building -- I decided to call it a day and venture around some more. Supposedly there are 3 nap pods scattered throughout the building so I took on the adventure of trying to find one. I must have looked pretty suspicious being in the office that late walking back and forth obviously looking for something. There are security cameras everywhere and probably some person sitting behind all the monitors laughing at me. I was, however, successful at finding one on the 10th floor after looking around long enough.
One of the few things that The Internship actually got right
Seeing as I keep hitting a wall at around 2 pm recently where I can barely stay awake, my next thing to scratch off my internship bucket list is to sleep in a nap pod.
