I'm not exactly fresh off the plane since I took a 3 hour nap after being on a plane for 6 hours and running on only 3 hours of sleep. I somehow managed to find my way to Silicon Valley -- the place I've wanted to visit for years.

So concludes the second week of my internship. The only noteworthy adventure of the day was trying gelato for the first time at Chelsea Market with my mentor and another intern and then visiting the High Line right afterwards.

One thing I like about the office is that even though it's nearing the end of my second week here, I'm still finding new surprises (and getting lost, which leads to finding more cool stuff). It's similar to looking for cool things and easter eggs in an RPG game after you've beaten the main storyline.

I finally got my project assignment today from my host and it's an interesting one. My task: whack-a-mole. Not like the game they used to have at the roller rink when I was a little kid, but the issue of finding "moles" or poor-performing tasks on machines in a cluster and "whacking" them by transferring them to another available machine in the cluster.

It's officially my second week of being an intern already. Another batch of interns came in today, gathering from offices all across the eastern half of North America. They're the new Nooglers on the block -- literally. Our office takes up the entire block (and then part of a building across from us). We got to meet them after work today as we had a planned party at the Frying Pan for dinner.
